如今的塑膠污染問題日漸嚴重。研究報導，塑膠垃圾約占污染物的六至八成，嚴重地威脅了海洋生態。許多人會認為這些大海裡的塑膠瓶、吸管才是「污染」的來源。但我們發現，海洋裡塑膠大部分來自於「微塑膠」。它們一般有三種來源，而令人較意外的是我們平時每天使用的洗面膏裡面微塑膠的含量竟是這三大來源之一。這一項發現令我們的團體十分關注，我們希望研發一種不含有微塑膠的洗面膏，減少微塑膠對海洋的污染。
