Around a billion people lack access to clean water. This leads to hundreds of thousands of deaths each year due to water-borne illnesses.
Recently in Hong Kong, there have been reports of high levels of lead in drinking water. This is extremely worrying because high levels of lead in water cause mental retardation.
Safe and clean drinking water is of paramount to the health and well-beings of humans.
Our project is about clean water. We aim to build a device that can collect and clean water.
It will be a three-stage process. It will start off with the collection of rainwater followed by filtration to remove solids from rainwater and then sterilisation to remove bacteria.
