We are CuSHion for You and Me, from VNSAA St. Hilary’s School, a group of Grade 4-5 students. We would like to raise the awareness of environmental protection by recycling and redefining materials. We would like to turn 'waste' into service or products, for students, teachers, parents, the elderly, communities, etc. The goal is to create a cushion for You and Me, both literally and metaphorically.
Inspiration came from
What social problems do you solve?
After the review of our daily lives, especially since the outbreak of the Covid-19, the demamd for disposable cutlery has risen due to the increase of food delivery and take-away food. Therefore, more waste materials have been generated while there is a downturn for the recycling industry.
Fewer companies are willing to recycle things and start to put on more resources on other businesses, which are likely to be more profitable. The amount of waste is increasing and poses a menace to the environment and community.
It is the beginning...
Students are going to practise the concept of upcycling materials as well as redefining materials. They are going to discover ways to recycle used materials and communicate with local business and enterprises. We would like to turn 'waste' into service or products, for students, teachers, parents, communities. The goal is to create a cushion for You and Me, both literally and metaphorically.
