What are pangolins?
- They are the only mammals with scales
- They curl their body up into a ball when they are scared to defend themselves
- They are night animals who hunt for food in the dark
- They feed on rocks
What is happening to pangolins?
- Pangolins are being trafficked
- They are being used for food and medicines
- They are used for accessories and clothing
- Their scales are being sold in the black market
Why did we choose pangolins as our target group?
- Pangolin is a unique animal and not many people know about them
- Pangolins control the population of ants and turbines
- If pangolins go extinct, the species of ants and turbines will overgrow without being consumed
How we planned to help pangolins?
- Create an educational story book in both Chinese and English
- Post our storybook on different social media platform to raise awareness
- We hope to have a print copy of our storybook and add it to our library
- We have designed some stickers and souvenirs to sell at the Dreamstarter fair
- Raise fund and donate to https://www.savepangolins.org/
