Hey there!! We are 4D and we are the protectors of oyster reefs. We are on a mission to help save our local oyster reefs. Did you know oysters are like superheroes for our water? They clean water, protect our shores, and they give fish and crabs a place to live.
We are learning all about these amazing reefs and how we ca help make them come back. Let's learn more about these amazing shellfish and spread the word to our community.

Our Inspiration 靈感來自
As we discussed different ecosystems and habitats in class, we came across various sea creatures that need help as their livelihood is being threatened. Many coastal communities, like Hong Kong, have seen their oyster reefs disappear over the years due to pollution, over farming and loss of habitat. Studies have shown that there are ways to restore these reefs.
What problems will it solve? 解決什麼社會問題
Oyster reefs are vital to the quality of water, and they offer habitat to smaller sea creatures. These oysters can filter 50 gallons of water a day to maintain the quality of water for people and sea life. These reefs house smaller life like fish, crabs and shrimp and lastly, they act as a protective barrier against the coast where they can reduce the speed of erosion.
How did we start? 我們如何由0到1開始
We started with learning about the importance of these oyster reefs and started to plan on ways that we can educate and spread the word. We started with creating posters from every student that can be combined into a collage to advocate for the movement as well as creating power point presentations from scratch where the students learn how to develop their researching skills, learn new technology and software and lastly exercise their presentation and oral skills.
Our next move is to recycle oyster shells from home and restaurants in an attempt to create a small habitable exhibit where it can be viewed and utilized for restoration. We will also create different pieces of items to sell where it helps raise funds and will be donated to the Nature Conservancy in Hong Kong.
Challenges we face 我們遇到的挑戰
Some challenges we faced are learning and using new technology and software to create visual aids to use for our campaign. Students learnt how to create posters and presentations from scratch on Canva. They learnt and explored different skills with technology as well as their presentation skills to spread the word. Another challenge would be collecting and recycling oyster shells. There is a small amount that was collected at school from students' homes, but it was hard to collect from restaurants. A third challenge that we faced is the decision on what to make to raise funds as we want to create something that is useful and memorable of the campaign.

We would love to gain resources to create a product that could raise money for the cause as well as it being useful to the public so not only will they be constantly reminded but they will also share the message through word of mouth.
