Inspiration came from
There is more than 10% household keeping dogs and cats, but meanwhile the cases of animal abuse and abandonment raised drastically. After research, we found that the reasons include immigration, economic pressure, time cost and so on, leading to overcrowded animal shelters and increasing number of stray animals.
What social problems do you solve?
We want to reduce the cases of animal abuse in the society and help those animals in the shelters to find a loving home.
How do we start from 0 to 1
1. Promoting the importance of animal protection, being a responsible owner, and adoption through social media platform.
2. Inviting speakers from the animal shelter to hold an educational talk in school to educate our schoolmate.
3. Volunteering in the animal shelter/ adoption day.
4. Operating an occasional “café” in the campus selling packaged snacks, student designed souvenirs to raise money for the animal shelter.
The resources we needed
We would like to collaboration with local animal shelters for educational talk and an opportunity for a visit and service.
