Inspiration came from
A need to focus on the natural world. Imagine a picture of a beach. Rubbish has been washed up onto the shore. The rubbish tends to be the focus, however if we look past the waste and focus on the natural world around it, our focus may change. In order to maintain the environment we must become passionate about it.
What social problems do you solve?
Society needs to shift its focus from rubbish to nature in order to maintain a healthy, clean environment.
Aim
To design an application or gadget that will record and categorise the natural environment in Hong Kong. The device will serve as a reference and will have the function to be updated and edited by users, in a similar way to wikipedia.
As well as this, the gadget or application will have a photo function. The user can take a picture of a tree, for example, and information about this type of tree will be displayed. If there is no information about the tree, then the user has the option to research the species and add it to the index.
