Since Covid-19, we have been battling with this disease by protecting ourselves with masks, gloves, social distancing and keeping clean.
However, with the increase use of masks, gloves and disinfectants, it has resulted in the increased use of these materials- which are mainly made with one-time use plastic.
Now, these objects can be found in places where we don't want them to be. It is causing more pollution on land and in sea.
We want to help our environment. Would you join us, too?
who are we
We are Reglove Masters. We would like to help our environment by reducing the amount of one-time plastic use by creating protective, reusable and washable gloves. We hope that students, adults and elderly will be able to carry on their daily duties feeling safe and secure with their gloves on. They will also be assured that they are not harming the environment more because they are using gloves that can be washed and reused many times.
Inspiration came from
Just by looking around us, we can see that Covid-19 has enabled us humans to create more waste.
What social problems do you solve?
Gloves are supposed to be like reusable masks where they can be washed and reused again. The current method of using one-time use plastic gloves is causing a lot of waste, especially when these gloves are used on the public transport journey, at school or at the grocery shop.
How do we start from 0 to 1
We need to create the materials for the gloves as well as the design of the glove.
The challenges we encountered
Challenges
- What material are we going to use?
- Where do we get support?
- How are we going to make it? Factory? Workshop? Someone's home?
The resources we need
- We need professionals to help create the materials for the gloves.
- We need professionals to enhance our designs of the glove.
- We need sponsors to sponsor our project.
- Companies such as Uniqlo, who have created reusable masks and are currently selling in the market. These companies can give us advice as to how to design and manufacture products.
